Go Car Portal Update

Go Car Portal Update

You Can Now Access Your Info Anywhere You Have Internet!

To simplify how you access loan information, we’re replacing our old mobile app and online portal with a new web app, that you can access from any device with browsing capability.

If you have a unique and up-to-date email with us, you already have access! Here's how you can log in (it's a bit different from what you might be used to, so please read the instructions carefully):

Log in page of the Go Car Finance customer portal with the forgot password link circled

Visit the log in page of the app and select "I've forgotten my password". This will take you to a page where you can input the email address you have on file.

The forgot password page of the Go Car Finance portal

Enter the email address we have on your file and click the green "Send Password Reset Link" button. If we have the correct email, we'll send an email to your inbox with further instructions. Make sure to check your junk folder!

Ready to get started?

To get access, tap log in below and enter the email address you used when you signed up.

Read on for our frequently asked questions:

How do I log in to the new portal?

If it's your first time logging in, follow the instructions above and reset your password. We'll then email you a link to set your password.

If you've logged in before, use your email address and the password to log in again!

What if I don't get an email?

First, please check your junk and spam folders.

If you still can’t find the email, it may mean that we don’t have your email on file. To update your email, you can call us at 0800 462 277 or email customercare@gocar.co.nz with your loan number in the subject line. We’ll call you to confirm and update your email address on your behalf.

We appreciate your patience as we work through these requests!

What's changed?

You can now log in from any device with internet connectivity, and if you've used our old app, you'll notice that the layout is a bit different.

Otherwise, you can still track your car (If your vehicle has been fitted with a Go Connect device), view your payment history, preview upcoming payments, and even see when your registration and WOF are due to expire.

If there's no app, can I access this on my mobile?

Yes! You can visit app.gocar.co.nz from any device connected to the internet (including most smartphones).

What if I have multiple vehicles?

You can see the information for every active loan, right under one log in!

My starter has been interrupted - what do I do?

If your vehicle has been fitted with a Go Connect device:

We'll only interrupt the starter of a vehicle as a last resort if we can't get hold of you and come to a resolution. If it's an emergency, send "ENBL" to 3411 via SMS from the mobile number we have on file. If you have any of your six emergency enables left, we'll automatically re-enable your starter for a period of three hours.

I forgot my password

If you've set your password and forgotten it, tap "I've forgotten my password" and enter your email. We'll send you a link to reset it - easy peasy!

How do I access my statements?

You can do that in the portal! Select the account you want to view statements for, and navigate to the transactions tab. This will show you an up to date statement for the selected account.

I want to pay off my loan, how much do I need to pay?

If you want to close your loan, give us a call so we can provide you with an accurate settlement figure on the date you'd like to pay it off.

You can get an indication by selecting "Close Quotation" in the portal - please keep in mind that this will give you an indicative number, but might not be 100% accurate.

What happens to the old app?

You'll no longer be able to log in to the old app as of the 9th of December - if you already have it downloaded, you'll want to uninstall it.

How do I change my payments?

If you want to change your payment frequency or set up extra payments, give us a call - we're happy to help!

How do I track my car?

If your vehicle has been fitted with a Go Connect device:

Click the loan number of the car you want to track, and navigate to the security page. If tracking is enabled for your car, you'll see a map with your car's location shown.

What if I don't have a unique email address?

You’ll be able to log in and view sensitive information with your email address, so it’s important that we have a unique one that’s just for you. If you don’t already have one, there are plenty of free options like Gmail and Outlook. Set one up and fill in this form to update it with us!

How do I make a payment?

If you'd like to make a payment, you can transfer to our bank account directly. You can find our account details at the bottom of the Finance Information page, here.

Please remember to use your loan number or registration number as a reference so we know it's you who's paid!

What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?

MFA is a security feature that helps to keep your sensitive information secure. When you attempt to log in, as well as entering your email address and password, the portal will also send you an email containing a unique code which you'll have to enter before you can log in.

This means that if someone manages to get hold of your password and has malicious intent, they won't be able to access your account unless they also have access to to your emails - another layer of security to keep you and your information safe online!
